Equipment

  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper
  • Microwavable bowls

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Mini pretzel twists
  • 12 oz Candy melts
  • 3 tsp Coconut oil
  • Festive sprinkles
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  • Line your baking sheets with parchment paper to set up the landing place for your dipped candy pretzels.
  • Melt candy melts, along with coconut oil, according to package directions taking care not to overheat the candy. You can also add the coconut oil to the melts after they come out of the microwave and the excess heat will melt the oil. I recommend only working with 4 oz of melted candy at a time to ensure the melts stay a good consistency for dipping. So if you’re separating your melts into three colors like I did, just heat up and dip one color of pretzel at a time!
  • Carefully dip each pretzel, shaking off the excess coating, and place on your parchment lined baking sheet. I like the look of the pretzels being about 3/4ths coated in the candy melt, but feel free to dunk the pretzels fully and pull out with a fork.
  • Add sprinkles while the candy melts are still wet. I typically dip about 15 pretzels, add sprinkles to those, and repeat.
  • Let your Valentine Candy Pretzels dry and harden completely before storing.

Notes

Valentine Candy Pretzels are super easy to store - just store in an airtight bag or container at room temperature. I wouldn’t recommend refrigerating, as it might make the pretzels soggy.
These would also look adorable in a little clear or Valentine’s Day themed cellophane bag tied with some ribbon to make the perfect gift!
